DELTA FILM FESTIVAL
The purpose of this festival is to bring exposure to members of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, that are involved in the filmmaking industry. This is the inaugural Delta Film Festival.
NATIONAL ARTS AND LETTERS COMMISSION
The mission of the National Arts and Letters Commission is to boldly advance the black experience, highlighting the artistic contributions of African American people of the past and present and elevating them to public attention. Launched on September 24, 1973, the Commission seeks to preserve, communicate and project all art forms that express the black experience in positive and liberating ways, with particular emphasis on the positive roles of Black women.
DELTA SIGMA THETA SORORITY, INCORPORATED
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated is a private, not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to provide assistance and support through established programs in local communities throughout the world. Founded on January 13, 1913, by 22 collegiate women at Howard University, to promote academic excellence and aid those in need, the organization is committed to sisterhood, scholarship, service, and addressing the social issues of the time. Since its founding, Delta Sigma Theta has become one of the preeminent service-based sororities, with more than 300,000 initiated members and over 1,000 chartered chapters worldwide. The major programs of the Sorority are based upon the Five-Point Programmatic Thrust: economic development, educational development, international awareness and involvement, physical and mental health, and political awareness and involvement.
